For PrismaLife policyholders, there are many opportunities to take personal sustainability preferences into account when assembling their investment portfolio. Our unit-linked life insurance policies provide a selection of funds for individual investment during the duration of the insurance contract that promote environmental or social characteristics (pursuant to Art. 8 SFDR) or pursue sustainable investment goals (pursuant to Art. 9 SFDR).<\/p>\n

This enables policyholders to pursue two objectives at the same time:<\/p>\n

Composition of the Range of Funds
Unit-linked investment options combine economic (risk) diversification opportunities with different sustainability strategies. These include, for example, the exclusion of controversial industries such as armaments or tobacco, the selection of environmentally leading companies within a sector (best-in-class) or investments in projects with a measurable positive impact on the environment or society (impact investing). <\/span><\/p>\n

Our broad range of funds enables our customers to align their investments with their personal values and preferences. Against the backdrop of the benefits of economic diversification, the selection of the range of funds made available to our customers is based on offering as broad a range of investment options as possible. Where possible, sustainable investment options are offered in every asset class. We do not generally limit the fund offering to specific sustainability-related themes, such as particular social or environmental topics.<\/p>\n

Guidance through Ratings
Guidance in selecting suitable investments is provided, among other things, by the classifications from the analysis house Morningstar. Morningstar identifies funds as \u201csustainable\u201d if they have explicitly anchored a sustainability strategy in their investment principles. In our documents, funds with this classification are identified as \u201cESG funds\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

This classification is supplemented by the Morningstar Sustainalytics ESG Risk Rating (\u201cPortfolio ESG Risk Rating\u201d). It assesses on a scale of one to five globes how well the companies in a fund portfolio manage the opportunities and risks associated with ESG issues. This is a relative assessment scheme, which means the rating is always based on a comparison with funds within the same global category (peer group). One globe signals a low rating, two globes a below-average rating, three globes an average rating, four globes an above-average rating and five globes a high relative ESG rating compared to the respective peer group. The rating does not provide information on the specific design of the ESG approach pursued. Support in Selecting Suitable Investments
Selecting investments that match individual sustainability preferences requires an intensive study of the sustainability strategies of the individual funds. To make this easier for our customers and their advisors, we provide various information and tools.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since August 2nd 2022, the mandatory inquiry into sustainability preferences for the investment advice of new customers has been supported in the fund selection in the quotation software. Customers and intermediaries can thus select funds that correspond to the specified preferences from the fund list.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Prisma FundFinder also enables a selection of funds that correspond to one\u2019s own sustainability preferences. To do this, call up the information via your policy number (see below). If you do not yet have a contract with us, select the path \u201cFor Prospective Customers\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

As asset management companies use a wide range of different ESG approaches, these cannot currently be fully represented through simple filter functions. An intensive content-related examination of the fund\u2019s sustainability goals and a comparison with one\u2019s own sustainability preferences is required. For this purpose, the binding information from the asset management companies can be used, which is disclosed in the pre-contractual and periodic ESG information or in the fund prospectuses and annual reports. You can access these in the \u201cFund Information\u201d applicable to your policy or via the Prisma FundFinder. To do this, first enter your policy number in the input field below.
