Sustain­ability Report 2022: First external assessment of CO2 key indicators

PrismaLife has already neared its emissions target – 50 percent fewer CO2 emissions than in 2019 by 2030 – in 2022. And this despite stricter and extended criteria. These and further reviewed data are contained in the Sustain­ability Report 2022

Signif­icant growth in existing and new business

PrismaLife can look back on a successful 2022 business year. Gross premiums written increased by 3.2 percent to 141.3 million euros compared to the 2021 financial year. New business grew by 12.1 percent and single premiums even increased by 19.2 percent. The good business devel­opment is also reflected in the solvency ratio: it increased to 183 percent in 2022.

Signif­icant increase in the overall rating

PrismaLife AG has once again received an inter­na­tional award for its Sustain­ability Report 2021. As one of the smallest companies in the group of 12 insurance companies examined, PrismaLife achieved 4th place and a gold medal in the sustain­ability ranking of the analysis company Zielke Research Consult.

Targets for sustain­ability exceeded

In the reporting year of 2021, PrismaLife reduced its CO2 emissions by 82 percent to 6.5 tonnes - due to Corona-related travel restric­tions and the change in the energy supply contracts. Also the share of sustainable invest­ments held by insurance customers has doubled, but here the pension specialist sees much potential for increase.

Semiannual report 2021

PrismaLife posted a positive business result for the half-year term of 2021. With the result of about 3 million euro the insurance specialist from Liecht­en­stein reaches a good outcome. The growth of new business of around 5 percent is also part of this result.

On August 13th the opening of the new outdoor-trainingtower for young and old took place in Triesenberg. This innov­ative recre­ation offer is free of charge and is meant for everyone to keep fit. Sustain­ability report 2020

PrismaLife AG has presented its second sustain­ability report for the year 2020. The results show that the company was able to save more than 30% of its CO2 emissions in 2020, compared to the previous year. The keys to success were CO2 reduc­tions in opera­tions and, above all, a consis­tently sustainable orien­tation of the capital investment.

Positive business balance despite corona pandemic. PrismaLife was able to increase ist gross pemiums written by 1.4 percent to 134.4 Mio. Euro. Many customers took advantage of free of charge additional payments for existing contracts, so that single premiums rose by 90.8 percent to 13.4 Mio. Euro.

A current study from Germany however, shows that only every 7th citizen of Germany can explain what “sustainable capital- or money investment” is. PrismaLife to be Climate Neutral by 2020

PrismaLife has presented for the first time a sustain­ability report for the year 2019. The report documents the corporate strategy and shows how to live sustain­ability within the company. One core result is that carbon dioxide emissions will be signif­i­cantly reduced from the operative business. Measuring 51 tonnes in 2019 the goal is to reduce drasti­cally the next years. The remaining part will be compen­sated through other projects from 2020 so we will work climate neutral form that year on.

PrismaLife Achieves Premium Growth Despite the Coronacrisis

PrismaLife increased its premium volume by 3.3 percent to a total of 68.5 million euro in the first half of 2020. With this the company reaches an annual surplus of 0.3 million euro. The increase in premiums is mainly due to additional payments and increases in existing contracts. “We are very pleased that our existing customers in particular have increased their premiums,” said PrismaLife Chief Executive Officer Mr. Holger Beitz. “This demon­strates that they also place their trust in us during the times of Corona.”

PrismaLife Expands its Range by Eight CHF Funds

PrismaLife AG has expanded the range of funds available to its customers by a further eight Swiss franc invest­ments. The selection includes four managed equity funds and four mixed funds, which have been given above-average ratings by the ratings firm Morningstar. In addition, two of the eight funds offer PrismaLife customers the oppor­tunity for low-carbon invest­ments, which are sustainable products. They are marked with the seal “Low Carbon Desig­nation” by Morningstar. CEO Holger Beitz: “In times of uncer­tainty we offer our customers an increase of security with these CHF-funds. The very stable currency and the advan­tages of the location Liecht­en­stein with its triple-A rating is a great foundation for a longterm return-oriented and sustainable provision.”

PrismaLife Further Expands its Range of Sustainable Funds

PrismaLife has expanded its range of sustainable funds for its customers by a further 18 funds. The range includes seven managed equity funds and three bond containing funds. In addition, there are seven exchange traded funds and one micro­fi­nance fund. All have been given above-average sustain­ability ratings by Morningstar. Clients of the Liecht­en­stein insurer can now choose from 29 renowned sustain­ability funds to expand their assets while also consid­ering ecological and social aspects as well as respon­sible corporate gover­nance.

PrismaLife Increases Net Income to More than 6 Million Euros

PrismaLife achieved a net profit of more than 6 million euros in the 2019 financial year, an increase of 13 percent over the previous year. At 133 million euros, premiums written were almost on par with the previous year, which was a total of 138 million euros. Holger Beitz, CEO of PrismaLife: “2019 was another successfull year for us. We signif­i­cantly exceeded the planned surplus and also laid the founda­tions for further sustainable growth in new business”. When it comes to new business for the net tariff specialist a share of 70 percent still signs contracts without acqui­sition costs.

PrismaLife increases annual surplus again

Prelim­i­narily PrismaLife achieved an increase of the annual surplus of more than 6 million euro in 2019. “Our earning power has increased magnif­i­cently”, Holger Beitz, CEO of PrismaLife, says. “In addition new business is growing again and we managed to keep the high ratio of net tariffs especially with private investors at the same level”.
PrismaLife is a specialist in sustainable wealth accumu­lation with unit-linked insur­ances. In 2019 about 70 percent of new business was done in net tariffs, meaning tarifs without calcu­lated acqui­sition costs​.At the beginning of 2019, the Liecht­en­stein insurance company newly created its capital investment on aspects of sustain­ability. From the variety of funds customers can now choose 11 funds that are explicitly sustainable.

Grade “good” in the ranking of Handels­blatt for fund range

In times of negative interesst rates, unit-linked annuity insur­ances offer solid returns, provided the funds are good. For the “Handels­blatt” the rating agency “Assekurata” examined altogether 82 funds of PrismaLife and awarded them with grade “good”. PrismaLife as a newcomer managed to convince with the quality of offered funds and achieved 57 of the max. of 65 possibly given rating points.

Packages for “Weihnachten im Schuhkarton”

For employees of PrismaLife christmas has already come. For the worldwide biggest non-profit organ­i­sation “Operation Christmas Child” initiated by the inter­na­tional christian aid organ­i­sation “Samaritan´s Purse”, we filled and wrapped gift packages. Since the beginning of this charity action named “Weihnachten im Schuhkarton” in 1993 more than 157 millionen needy children at the age of 2 to 14 years were given a special treat. Now the packages are on their way and the donation is trans­ferred. We are happy to see children`s eyes shining at Christmas!

Interest rate for investment strategy “Sonderver­mögen Taggeld” increased

PrismaLife now allows its customers to partic­ipate in its successful business devel­opment. Clients of the Liecht­en­stein insurer with unit-linked life
insurance who have chosen the strategy of “Sonderver­mögen Taggeld” receive an interest rate of 0.25 percent since the 1st of October 2019. Before this time, the interest rate was 0.0 percent. “At times of negative interest rates we offer our customers an attractive alter­native for safety-oriented investors with the increased interest rate”, Holger Beitz, CEO of PrismaLife says.

PrismaLife generates strong half-year result

In the first half-year term PrismaLife generated a surplus of more than 5.7 million euro. The insurer thus achieved a result more than twice as high as in the same period of the previous year (2.5 million euros) and a higher result than in 2018 as a whole (5.3 million euros). This was caused by a strict reduction of spendings as well as an improved investment result. The earned premiums (62.4 million euro) were slightly under those compared to 2018 (65.1 million euro). New business increased by 32 percent.

The one week lasting football academy with profes­sional coaches of Borussia Dortmund was a very special event for all partic­i­pating teams.
