The term “immediately” is legally defined in § 121 of the German Civil Code (BGB). “Immediately” means without culpable delay. “Immediately” is longer than “without delay”: the person concerned has certain time for reflection. The length of this reflection period depends on the difficulty of the decision that he must take.
